On Saturday the 25th of October 1969, West Bromwich Albion took on Manchester United in a Football League Division 1 match played at The Hawthorns. Albion won the match 2-1 with goals from Tony Brown and Bobby Hope, whilst Brian Kidd netted for the visitors. For sale is a full size Cromol White League leather hand sewn football which, given that it is fifty years old, has survived superbly and is in fantastic condition. Whilst it cannot be confirmed that this was a match ball from the game, it is certainly of the period and of sufficient quality. West Bromwich Albion – John Osborne / Len Cantello / John Talbut / John Kaye / Tony Brown / Colin Suggett / Jeff Astle / Asa Hartford / Bobby Hope / Graham Lovett and Ray Wilson. Manchester United – Alex Stepney / Tony Dunne / Francis Burns / David Sadler / Brian Kidd / Bobby Charlton / John Aston / George Best / Carlo Sartori / Paul Edwards / Pat Crerand and Willie Morgan.
